Amanda Salatin

As a young girl, I spent much of my time at the local fire house where my father served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT instructor. I loved being in that environment and often found myself having a made up injury being triaged and treated by his students. I also bore witness to how first responders “coped” with loss throughout my life and this experience has certainly shaped my calling.

For a while now, I have felt called to serve other helping professionals. After years in practice, I found myself feeling burned out and jaded in my work. With some soul searching (and a lot of therapy + a good career counselor), I realized I was suffering from compassion fatigue. The narratives that my clients had been graciously sharing with me for years, left me in a place where I felt I had nothing more to give. Working through my own journey with compassion fatigue has left me energized, renewed and ready to teach resiliency to others that find themselves in that same space.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to hear your story, share in your journey and most of all for the space to live my mission of helping others.
