    • Coordinate Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) services following work place crisis such as acts of violence, death, robbery and reduction in force.

    • Offer crisis assessment and direct interventions for individuals, and groups along with management consultation.

    • Serve as Clinical Social Worker for pediatric patients specializing in the pediatric intensive care unit, pediatric emergency room, and pediatric outpatient clinics.

    • Complete bio-psycho-social assessments, provide education to patients and their families and coordinate appropriate resource referrals.

    • Complete psychiatric evaluations in mental health and chemical dependency screens to recommend admissions and subsequently make arrangements for various levels of care.

    • Assess patients for physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and/or neglect and adhering to Indiana Code and social work ethical standards regarding mandatory reporting to appropriate agencies.

    • Provide emotional and psychological support to families’ related to new diseases specific diagnosis, grief and loss, prolonged hospitalization, trauma and associated stressors.

    • Cross trained to cover all units of the adult, women’s, and children’s hospitals to provide social work interventions and case management duties.


CRISIS & CONSULTATION

  • St. Vincent Hospital Public Relations Department- Mental health community contact completing interviews for various forms of media including radio, television and print.

  • Serve as lead contact for St. Vincent Hospital PACT team.

    • Triage, deliver, and coordinate responses within the organization following sentinel events and or/traumatic cases causing significant emotional reactions in staff members.

  • District 5 Disaster Mental Health Response Team – Members of this team provide responses following disasters in the state of Indiana.

    • Deployed for two days following the Indiana State Fair stage collapse to debrief with state employees.

    • Activated as a part of this team to assist in southern Indiana following the tornadoes in 2012. Provided psychological first aid to survivors within the “One Stop Shop” set up by the state.
